Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory
Notes About the Violence
This wonderful classic movie is a great kids movie, except for one scene, which I write about in the blog post, Willy Wonka and the Terrible Tunnel. Otherwise, there is only one very mild scene.
General Warning
The second scene is awful and should be skipped entirely.
Scenes
Charlie is delivering newspapers...then slows his walk as he approaches the Wonka factory
Strange tinkerer talks about the factory, and he has a cart full of knives and other unusual junk
"Charlie's late" - grandmother
"He works too hard for a little boy" - Granpa Joe
The kids and Wonka get on a boat on the chocolate river
"You're going to love this, just love this" -Wonka
Yah, not so much. This scene goes into weird nightmare psycho land and is best skipped altogether. On the DVD I'm watching, you can just hit the chapter skip as they are going in the tunnel, the next chapter is Charlie and grandpa looking at a sign about Cream, wonderfully skipping just the one awful scene.
They go into a tunnel, which is meant to scare kids and with disturbing images and Wonka turn into a madman
"Whipped Cream"
"Coffee Cream"
"Vanilla Cream"
"Hair Cream?"
