Notes About the Violence
Imitation Game is a brilliant biopic starring Benedict Cumberbatch. Don't let the scene count of eleven scare you, overall this movie is very mild.
Not Included in Scenes
Since overall this movie is very tame, we have included absolutely everything except for footage of armies with nothing objectionable at all (armies marching in a parade, etc.)
"Popular at school, were you?" - Stewart (MI6)
"The problem began of course, with the carrots." - Alan

"Christopher helped." -Turing
"Alan, are you alright?" - Young Christopher
Various people are shown solving a crossword puzzle, then we hear an air-raid siren go off.
Planes are shown bombing London from extremely far away. No one is shown getting hurt or anything directly violent. Then the rubble afterward is shown.
Spoken words are heard again.
"So who are they?"
"Some people thought we were at war with the Germans. Incorrect. We were at war with the clock."
Very brief shots of two boats being blown up, one shot of a body bag from far away.
A loud bell rings.
"What just happened?"
"Damn you, and your useless machine." - Hugh

"You could make this go faster but you won't." - Hugh
Three levers are turned, everyone waits
"How long?" -Hugh
A German tank rolls over a helmet, and a tank is shown on fire. This is a very quick scene.
A radio announcer is heard.
"...Poland to Serbia...."
Turing goes inside the warehouse and locks the door when he sees the commander coming.
"Turing. Turing, open the bloody door!" - Commander
The door is broken down, and Alan is knocked to the floor, but it is pretty gentle, and he seems fine, and gets up immediately.
"Please, please, no, don't!" -Turing
Turing stops Hugh from making a telephone call.
"You can't call..." - Alan
"What are you talking about?" - Hugh
Hugh punches Turing. Very brief, and like stage acting.
"You know why people like violence..." - Alan
Peter and Alan are both upset.
"I'm asking you, as your friend."
"You are not God, Alan, you don't decide who lives and who dies." -Peter
The aftermath of the attack is shown, from very far away. Ships are burning, but absolutely nothing graphic is shown.
Whistling, and voices are heard.
Turing and two others are sitting at a table.
"Minimal number of actions...." -Turing
Look away when, "Sounds right up my alley. Alan, I so rarely have cause..."
A man's wrapped-up stump as a leg is shown very briefly from afar, it is somewhat bloody.
Beeps are heard, and Turing begins talking.
Joan and Turing are talking.
"I've done that now so you can go."
Joan slaps Turing. Very mild.
"I'm not going anywhere." - Joan
"Everyday we performed our blood-soaked calculus." - Alan
Extremely mild war footage is shown, a boat is blown up, shown super briefly from afar in shaky black and white.
"...Epic battle between civilizations..."
